Ice cream is a surefire way to beat the heat in summer, but what happens when you add fire to ice?
Marble Slab Creamery partnered with Frito-Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to create a new creamy and dreamy concoction. The spicy and cheesy corn puffs and the ice cream shop announced the mashup: a Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Ice Cream and a Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Shake.
But ice cream lovers should get it while it’s hot as the sweet treat is available for a limited time. The dessert is available in stores nationally through Sept. 30.
The flavor features Texas-based Marble Slab Creamery‘s sweet cream base with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos crushed throughout and is available in a cup, cone or shake.
Fat Brands, the parent company of Marble Slab, described the concoction as “unexpected, a bit surprising and a whole lot of delicious,” noting it “encourages you to not take life too seriously.”
“The mischievous matchup is a perfect combination of delicious sweet heat … this is not your everyday ice cream,” the chain said. “Prepare to have your world turned upside down!”
“As a brand, Cheetos loves to work with partners who are as imaginative and playful as we are, and Marble Slab Creamery is a perfect fit,” said Cheetos marketing head Jessica Spaulding. “Our fans’ biggest passion points are food mashups and we’re constantly inspired by how they use Cheetos as an ingredient in their culinary creations. We know they will love Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Ice Cream and can’t wait to bring a little mischief to summer.”
A regular size Flamin’ Hot Ice Cream will go for $5.99 while a 20-ounce Flamin’ Hot Shake starts at $6.99.
For those dying to try this odd couple pairing, Marble Slab Creamery has 259 US locations, mostly in the southeast.
This isn’t the only wacky ice cream flavor to debut this summer. Van Leeuwen and Kraft teamed to debut mac and cheese-flavored ice cream for those seeking double comfort.
